Successful Season for Varsity Girls’ Basketball

The Lady Swordsmen finished their successful season with a 19-3 record. The team started off the season by winning their first 14 games. The team placed first at the First Annual Amanda Himes Tip-Off Tournament and finished in first place in the PCAC regular season. The team placed third at both the PCAC Tournament and KCEA AAA States.

Scoring leaders this season were Bailey Sanders (18.0 ppg), Hailee Thompson (9.4 ppg), Christine Ort (5.5 ppg), Jasmine Warner (4.6 ppg), and Reilly Teaman (3.8 ppg). Rebounding leaders were Bailey Sanders (12.6 rpg), Hailee Thompson (7.5 rpg), Jasmine Warner (5.8 rpg), and Rose Garner  (5.1 rpg). Leaders in steals were Jasmine Warner (5.3 spg), and Reilly Teaman (4.2 spg). The assist leader on the team was Jasmine Warner (5.2 apg).

To be successful next year, the players will need to continue to develop their basketball skills and improve on their individual weaknesses. The players should always remember that being a winner in God’s sight is the most important goal in this life.
